What does it look at:

A comprehensive blood test to assess cardiovascular risk: it looks at cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL + LDL cholesterol, Apolipoprotein A (Apo A) and Apolipoprotein B (Apo B). Reduced levels of Apo A together with increased levels of Apo B is associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease, often with accelerated rates of atherosclerosis (cholesterol build up in your arteries).

Homocysteine is a strong predictor of risk of cardiovascular disease. Elevated levels of homocysteine are also associated with numerous other conditions such as cognitive decline depression, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Supplementing with Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and Folic acid can lower homocysteine levels.
