Well Woman Ultrasound Scan

This scan is a combination of 4 ultrasound examinations: AbdomenUrinary tractAorta and Pelvic/ovarian ultrasound scans.

What is an abdominal and urinary tract ultrasound scan?

An abdominal and urinary tract ultrasound scan is a medical imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of the organs and structures within the abdomen and urinary tract. The procedure is non-invasive and does not involve any radiation.

During the scan, a gel is applied to the skin and a handheld probe is placed on the skin, emitting sound waves that bounce off the organs and structures inside the body. These sound waves create a picture of the organs and structures on a computer screen, which can be viewed and analyzed by a radiologist or other medical professional.

The procedure is used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as kidney stones, bladder tumors, and liver diseases, as well as to assess the size and location of organs and structures, such as the liver, gallbladder, and urinary bladder.

The Foot Ultrasound Scan

Musculoskeletal ultrasonography is a very powerful diagnostic tool for the diagnosis of a wide array of foot and ankle problems such tendinosis, tenosynovitis, para tendinitis, rupture, dislocation, ligaments that are commonly torn, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, stress fractures, and plantar plate injury.

Sports and overuse injuries of the ankle and foot are common and ultrasound has been established as an excellent diagnostic modality for foot and ankle pathologies, providing a rapid noninvasive examination tool that is well tolerated by the patient with acute or chronic pain.

The opportunity for dynamic examination is another advantage of ultrasound in evaluating ankle and foot pathology, where manoeuvres such as muscle contraction and stressing of the joint may be particularly helpful.

The baby Gender Scan

Some expectant parents like surprises, and they don't want to know the gender of their unborn baby. Others, however, are inpatient, and they want to know the gender as soon as possible. This scan is not only to identify the gender of your baby but also a mini well-being scan to make sure that everything is in order for extra reassurance

The Growth Ultrasound Scan

The growth ultrasound sometimes called a well-being scan, is being carried on the 3rd trimester of pregnancy to check the fetal growth and baby's wellbeing.

Reasons for having this ultrasound scan include:

  • Concern of fetal size/weight
  • Reduced fetal movements,
  • Concern of fetal position,
  • Location of umbilical cord

The Presentation Ultrasound Scan

The presentation ultrasound scan is particularly useful when there is any concern about the position of the baby, especially if the baby is breech.
